"Eugène Antoine Aizelin, Mignon, Bronze With Brown Patina Barbedienne Cast. Late 19th Century"
Important bronze with brown patina entitled "Mignon". We find a young woman seated with a guitar at her feet. Work from the end of the 19th century of good quality. Signed "E. AIZELIN" and dated 1880 on the base. Mark of the Barbedienne founder "F. Barbedienne Fondeur Paris" and Colas reduction stamp on the back. Perfect condition. Period late 19th century. The group representing Mignon is exhibited for the first time in plaster at the Salon of 1880, then in marble the following year and finally in bronze at the Universal Exhibition of 1889 at which it is rewarded with a gold medal.
