- The silhouette of our cabinet, very architectural, is initiated by a base with an inverted cavetto while a large cornice with a pediment with sides completes its arrangement. It opens on the front like a cupboard with a lock on the right door. All its exterior and interior faces are covered with a lush straw marquetry decoration. This was executed with great care. This is evidenced by the smallness of the pieces of straw and their arrangement to form complex patterns. In addition to the marquetry decoration, the very small dimensions of this box add to its preciousness.
- The straw marquetry patterns are varied; The exterior and interior faces of the doors are decorated with friezes, checkerboards, flower vases and the pediment with pearl festoons with arms in its center (two facing rampant lions supporting in their center an open crown above interlacing like the evocation of a monogram).
- Once opened, the interior of the cabinet is organized, in appearance, of eight compartments in three rows. Each drawer is framed by a fine marquetry frame and fitted with a button in its center. In reality, the architecture of this cabinet reveals caches allowing collectors to hide precious objects; the first row is a single drawer, the middle drawer once removed reveals a hidden drawer, the element of the pediment where the arms are arranged is pulled out like a drawer.
