Large group in modeled and patinated terracotta forming a smoking kit representing a fisherman from Fort-Mahon (Somme) resting while waiting for the tide. A little wink, he is smoking a pipe. Around him are arranged a lifebuoy, a barrel with its movable lid to hold his tobacco, various woven baskets to hold the matches... Titled in hollow "L'attente de la marée" and "Fort - Mahon" on the edge of the base. Oval hollow trademark of the Céramique d'art de la Manufacture de l'Isle Adam + catalog number. Edition 1921 - 1940. A very beautiful treatment of the subject, a great finesse of execution since hand modeling as shown on the back of the base.
