Coco Fesse Seychelle Coco De Mer 20th Century

Ancient "coco fesse", emblematic and endemic fruit of a palm tree of the Seychelles. 
It is the biggest seed in the world.
It was one of the jewels in the collection of cabinets de curiosités, collected since the 16th century.
The princes of Saxony in particular were fond of these cabinets that mixed scientific objects, archaeology, phenomena of nature (monsters), exotic plants, shells etc...
The "Coco Fesse" were part of the "naturalias", also called "exoticas".
This very beautiful and rare antique piece was carved, hollowed out and varnished.
Ready for exhibition.
