In 1898, Tarkhoff moved to Paris to pursue his artistic career, where he was influenced by renowned artists such as Van Gogh, Gauguin, and Cézanne. He exhibited regularly in prestigious salons, including the Salon des Indépendants and the Salon d'Automne. His works are characterized by vibrant color use and expressive brushstrokes, aligning him with movements like Impressionism and Fauvism.
Later Years in Orsay
In 1911, Tarkhoff settled in Orsay, France, where he lived until his death on June 5, 1930. His body of work encompasses a diverse range of subjects, including landscapes, cityscapes, and still lifes. His paintings were collected by prominent art enthusiasts and remain highly valued in museums and private collections worldwide.
