"Box For Two Violins"
Rare case for two violins in polished Rio rosewood. Probably made for or by the famous violin maker and institution "Hill" in London. The edges of the case as well as the removable handle, the lock entry and the closing mechanisms of the case are made of richly chased and engraved brass. The interior is lined with dark green velvet as well as a cross-pattern moiré fabric for the back of the lid. The key is present and in working order. Note that one of the closing tabs on the right side of the case is missing.
