"Small Dressing Table In Solid Cherry Wood, Louis XVI Period – Late 18th Century"
This small, solid blond cherry wood dressing table opens with five drawers of different sizes and has a sliding shelf and two false drawers on the front. All of these elements are fitted with brass lens buttons. The top of this period piece of furniture opens with two side flaps, mounted on hinges, revealing two spacious reserves. The central part also rises to offer a mercury mirror surrounded by a molded rod. The latter, sliding at the user's discretion, is equipped with a double-point hook lock with brass entry and key. Note that this authentic lock also allows the two side flaps described above to be closed. The fluted uprights stand out on turned, constricted feet fitted with brass sabots. This dressing table, certainly intended for men when it was made over 200 years ago, will please with its clean lines, its small size and the warm tone of its wood. ******** Period: Late 18th century Excellent condition Waxed finish.
