Kazak lambalo rug from the Caucasus, knotted in the region near Georgia.
Hand-knotted in wool on wool, dated in Persian, 1323 or 1905 of our calendar, a date which does not correspond to the creation of the rug.
Indeed, it is not uncommon to find false dates on rugs.
Our model has the advantages of Kazak Lambalo around 1960 - 1970.
It is recognizable by this central medallion which can be alone and in two tones, red and blue.
This rug with large geometric patterns of plants and animals is composed of a large central medallion of a faded red, having as a central ornament an octagon with ten small flowery niches.
The whole laid on a midnight blue field framed by a wide border borrowing a variation of the crab border, lined with two light blue bands flowered with carnations, symbolizing happiness.
The whole is in very good condition, slight wear.
This carpet is in wool on wool dyed with a mixture of plants and minerals, the fringes are short (two cm for the top and two cm for the bottom) and in very good condition.
The whole is very bright..Velvet, wool warp that can be mixed with goat hair.
This carpet has been professionally and ecologically cleaned.
