Beautiful Nuremberg Wedding Box, Circa 1600, Decorated And Painted Iron, And Its Key,

Here is a beautiful, fully forged iron box, medium-sized (28cm x 14.5cm), built circa 1600/1640, clad with cross-bracing reinforcements decorated on corners with still Gothic fleurons.
It rested on a sheet metal support (which we do not have), is painted with colored florets, its front shows the profile of bride and groom (wear and losses).
It opens with its key, revealing a superb engraved lock which operates 5 bolts, for a 7-point closure.
This lock works very well, and is very decorative. Inside, an iron compartment with a lid and latch.
Dimensions 28cm x 14.5cm x 14cm, weight 3kg.
Beautiful condition of discovery, a washer is missing from a handle, we can see rivet reinforcements, which suggests a  repair, and the faces of  bride and groom need to be restored.
