DECORATIVE ARTS-FIRE ARTS-CERAMICS LA GRANGE AUX POTIERS RENÉ AND MADELEINE DE VALENCE FRANCE 20TH CENTURY BLUE COVERED BOWL Large covered bowl in shaded/speckled blue enameled ceramic, with two side handles on the body and a "ball" handle (fretel) on the lid. Small pedestal for the base. Usual mark of the potters under the base. Couple of potters settled from 1940 in Beaurepaire in Isère, then in 1944 in St Barthélémy in Isère also. From 1958, they settled permanently near Valence, in the commune of Gervais in Drôme. From 1963, following the death of Rzné, Madeleine worked alone until 1993. Very good condition (firing defects; see descriptive photos). Weight: 2.945 kg.
