Pair of Louis XIV two-light girandole candlesticks*, in bronze, girandole with straight sockets, octagonal shaft mounted on a base with finely chiseled cut sides with stylized plant motif, from the early 18th century. These candlesticks are in their original condition, will need cleaning. Please note: some shocks, dirt and wear from time, see photos. ________________________________________________________ * Girandoles appeared around 1660, a time when people began to divide the light by multiplying the focus with a large number of candles. This term covers two different objects, one was the upper and removable part of a candelabra including the axis and the arms of light that could be planted in the socket of a torch, the other was a candlestick with several branches.
