He constantly explores in a constant but renewed way the reappropriation of the national heritage, he fully adhered to the "Aouchem" movement from its creation, and expresses with his brushes his deep attachment to the sign and symbolism of Berber culture, which constitutes the essence of his artistic creation. Almost all of his works reflect this principle and this state of mind. In his youth in Rabat and Algiers he was a member of a Jazz group known as "the Titans"; he played the harmonica and sometimes percussion.
