"Cevennes Hive"
Beehive carved from a hollowed-out trunk covered with a slate slab.Popular work from the Cévennes.
Can be diverted from its original use and become a side table with the most beautiful effect.
Chestnut wood and stone.
It is difficult to define the period precisely, but the use of these hives goes back several centuries.
This one could be from around the 19th century, without certainty, but it is certainly old.
It measures, for the trunk:
Height 45cm, diameter: 40cm
For the slate: 55cm by 83cm
