This important vase with an oval body, decorated with a partridge in slight relief, on a blue and gold background is signed by Hyppolite Boulenger & cie of the Choisy Le Roi factory. This factory was created by the Paillart brothers in 1805, then taken over in 1863 by H. Boulenger who gave, through his creations, considerable momentum to this factory. He gave his name H.Boulenger & cie to the firm. This mark is visible under the base of the vase.
