With glass eyes and partially stained wood, this doggie is a souvenir inkwell brought back in the 19th century from the Swiss high mountain resort: Saas Fee. In carved elm, it is in two parts and assembled by a hinge, it is missing its glass cup that it probably never had because there is not the slightest trace of ink. Its collar bears the engraved inscription of Saas Fee.
