"Statue Sénoufo"
Senufo statue, from Ivory Coast, with cut-off feet, originally intended as a ritual altar figure. It features the characteristic rooster-crested headdress and a series of identity scarifications. The object has a fairly deep patina of use and a slight oxidation of the wood, testifying to its age, probably in the mid-20th century. The object is authentic and has not been restored in any way. This statue comes from a private collection in Paris, and had been exchanged by its former owner with the German collector Bernd Mulhach (Kiel).
