"Nuremberg Chest"
Safe called "Nuremberg" in polychrome wrought iron, revealing a complicated mechanism, activating 6 bolts. It is equipped on the sides with handles facilitating transport. The front is decorated with a false keyhole, intended to deceive, the real keyhole being on the top hidden by a clever device. A bar blocking the opening completes the security device. These safes were intended to store either important documents, or precious objects or money, during land or sea travel. Two holes made in the bottom of the safe allowed it to be fixed to a fixed support. With a complex mechanism these safes were almost inviolable for the time. Manufactured mainly in Germany, in Bavaria, in the Nuremberg region.
