Beautiful luminous work by the painter Alfred Jean Chagniot which represents a scene of gleaning in Signe et Oise where the artist liked to paint scenes of rural life.
The artist represented in the foreground the rest of the harvesters at rest and gleaning the last ears of wheat left on the field after the harvest.
The second plan shows us a view of the countryside.
A student of Pierre Montezin and Vuillard, Alfred-Jean Chagniot became a Member of the Salon des Artistes français in 1938 and received numerous prizes and medals.
In 1993, a retrospective of his work was held at the Château de Croisy.
Dimensions: 46 x 55 cm without frame and 66.5 x 75.5 cm with its original wooden frame.
