He was a member of the Salon d'hiver where he presented the canvas Bords de côtes près Sainte-Maxime-sur-Mer in 1929. In 1931, he was awarded the Legion of Honor. He is best known for his paintings depicting Provence and the Mediterranean, two themes that greatly influenced his work. His landscapes are characterized by luminosity and the play of colors.
