Léon Coste leaves no trace in the artistic landscape, in the current state of research. His name does not appear in any exhibition in Périgueux or Bordeaux. Nor in databases related to art… However, judging by the quality of execution and the notions of luminist of this artist, he had training and real talent.

Before it reached us, this small panel was in a collection in Portugal and still had a framing paper on the back. On it was a label dating the painting in 1935 (photo in support) and numbering the work, certainly following an exhibition.
