A call to travel, or nostalgia for a beautiful trip to Venice, is certainly the feeling inspired by this beautiful painting signed lower right by Alphonse LECOZ circa 1890-1900.

As usual, Alphonse Lecoz captured the light and atmosphere created by the typical colors of the lagoon city with great skill. Here, he offers us a lovely view of a Venetian canal leading to the lagoon, animated by a Gondolier.

The theme of the canals of Venice is a destination for many painters and an absolute source of inspiration.
