Gouache on paper, mounted in an oval frame. Circa 1950 or early 1960s. Some traces of humidity. Signed lower right. Born in Spain, after the defeat of the Republicans among whom he joined at the age of eighteen, his father and he went into exile in 1939 in Oran, Algeria. He became a Spanish teacher and ceramics decorator. He exhibited from 1943. In 1947, he came to Paris and met Dominguez, Francisco Bores, Antoni Clavé, Atlan, Poliakoff. From 1952, he exhibited at the Salon d'Automne. Returned to Spain in 1967. His painting, freely figurative then non-figurative, subsequently evolved towards a neo-figurative expressionism.
