Beautiful pewter CIMARRE in baluster shape with high pedestal, acorn lid, fixed handle and hanging handle in accolade with attachments depicting human masks.
Hallmark of Louis TISSET received master around 1750: hammer / LT / BAR SUR AUBE.
Height: 25.9 cm.
BAR SUR AUBE (Champagne), Third quarter of the 18th century

Absolutely superb condition and quality.
These cimarres were intended for serving wine at the table, especially during receptions.
They are almost always from Champagne, from Troyes, Joinville, Montier-en-Der, for the majority of the production.
