Born in Toulouse, Gilbert Privat, winner of the Prix de Rome in 1921, is above all a sculptor, with a diverse body of work.
He magnifies the female body in the art deco aesthetic of his time, creates monumental works for public commissions but also religious works. He tackles all materials: here stone, for a pebble magnifying the power and vitality of the bull.
Signed on the back with the artist's monogram.
