Very nice oil painting on copper, representing "The Wedding at Cana". Probably from the workshop of Frans II Francken (1581-1642).
The subject is one of the strong themes of the New Testament:
"While he is stopping at Cana, a city of Galilee, in the company of Mary, his mother and his disciples, Jesus is invited to a wedding. The wine missing, he has jars filled with water and transforms it into very good wine and in abundance"
The colors of this religious painting are shimmering and pleasant, some small chips (see photos), but the whole remains in very good condition.
It is an exceptional work for lovers of Art and collectibles transcending eras.
