Pair of naval officer pistols called "Mer Dog" 18th-19th century (Louis XVI- Revolution - Directory - Consulate - 1st Empire - Restoration) Model type 1780 with flintlock and transformed into percussion towards the end of the Empire - Restoration. Barrel with sides then round with reinforcing rim at the mouth. Diameter at the muzzle of the barrel: 14 mm. Marking on the thunder "DESAGA in TULLE -TORDU (artisan gunner in tulle). Back of long thunder tail up to the cap in the shape of a sea dog's head with metal eyes. Modified percussion lock at the front bearing partly erased marking "GILET TULLE". Cocked notch mechanism in perfect working order. "S" hammer with crest. Straight trigger under trigger guard and metal rod with nail head. Walnut frame with short barrel and checkered stock with sea dog cap.
