"Grand Service de Table - Lin Damassé - Thème Chasse à Courre - 12 Couverts - Marqué JB - XIXème"
Rare and large table service marked J-B (second half of the 19th century) including a ceremonial tablecloth measuring 5.36 meters accompanied by its twelve napkins, displaying an opulent decor of hunting scenes with hounds and hunting with the fly. Castle, horsemen and horsewomen riding sidesaddle, groves, bodies of water, trophies, game from the air, water and land, excited dogs and abundant vegetation populate this exceptional set, evoking not without a certain exuberance, the art of hunting as it was practiced in the 19th century. Fluid and supple textile without losing its good shape. White embroidery with generous relief and well-marked damask. The set is in excellent condition with the exception of a napkin which has a slight foxing on the edge of the hem (see photo). Old linen washed and ironed.
