"The Farmyard By Claude Guilleminet"
Claude Guilleminet is a genre scene painter specializing in representations of farmyards: roosters, hens, chicks, ducks, turkeys, etc. He made his debut at the Salon of 1856, and participated in those of 1864 and 1866. The Fabre Museum in Montpellier holds several of his works. This oil on wood therefore represents a very lively farmyard. The color palette is very varied and very close to the truth with regard to all of these gallinaceous birds. Original frame. Gilding still very present. Very beautiful conservation for the whole.
