In his youth Leo Adler studied at the Academy of Art in Vienna, Austria, where his teacher was Ferdinand Andri.
Around the 1930s he traveled to Italy and Istria.
During the two world wars Adler was a war painter in France and Spain.
He won numerous awards for his paintings.
