"Oil On Canvas Bronquart"
Oil on canvas depicting a scene of great hunting "Bat-l'eau" the moment when the hunted animal throws itself into the water. We can also speak of a death knell because the character in the center of the painting is on foot and with a rifle to go and serve the hunting deer. In the water we can see hounds and on the bank two greyhounds. Hunting with hounds was a very popular practice for hunters in Europe in the 19th century, but banned in France from 1844, which makes us more indignant about the precise dating of this work. The painting is signed lower right Bronquart in red typical of the 2nd half of the 19th century.
