Adrien Louis Demont was a French painter born in Douai in 1851 and died in Wissant in 1928. He trained in Douai and collaborated with Émile Breton then worked in the studio of Joseph Blanc. In 1880, he married the painter Virginie Breton (daughter of the painter Jules Breton). They painted landscapes of the moors of Wissant together and a circle of students formed around the couple including Georges Maroniez, Fernand Stiévenart, Henri Duhem and Félix Planquette.
In 1905 he was named Honorary Rosati.
