"Gilded Bronze & Steel Blue Empire Style Chandelier "
Gilt bronze Empire style chandelier with at its centre a steel blue dome, embellished with golden stars evoking the heavens and the night by analogy with the object's function; below the dome a pinecone finial. Its 6 arms take shape of scrolling acanthus, with between all branches a laurel wreath or either the chain. The ceiling rose is adorned with nine large acanthus leaves to which the three ormolu chains are attached. ca. 1950
