The porcelains are signed by George Émile Poitevin in the decoration of the medallions and also bear apocryphal signatures of the Manufacture de Sèvres certainly made by Samson including the initials of BB framed by the intertwined L's all surmounting an S. The two scenes represented are inspired by the muses playing with Amour by François Boucher. The shape of the vase is close to the rare Sèvres model "vase du roi" or "vase du roi garland" celebrating the accession to the throne of Louis XVI. The pleated silk lampshade highlighted with a ribbon embroidered in blue and gold tops the vase decorated by Poitevin whose oil lamp has been electrified.
The whole is set in a tripod base decorated with gilded bronzes: sphinxes, masks of fauns crowned with vine branches, lamp bases and garlands of flowers. Halfway up the tripod, a porcelain medallion is surrounded by a gilded bronze ring. At the base of this set, a small porcelain vase is topped with a bronze lid resting on a large ring with three branches of foliage connecting the base finished with goats' legs.
