Mixed oil and sand 90 cm x 38 cm countersigned on the back Claude Jouhanneau numbered 107, dating from the 70s and representing the painter's studio at night. Painting close to abstraction belonging to the Lyonnais pictorial movement Sanzism strongly influenced by the Paris school and debates around abstraction and figuration. Our painting is a perfect example. Sold with invoice-certificate. Perfect condition. Claude Jouhanneau (1931-2011) devoted with passion and great energy, sixty years of his life to his art, always in emotion and sincerity, without compromise, without submitting to anyone the instinctive force of his temperament. His work is situated between that of André Cottavoz - with whom he exhibited in the 60s - and, for certain works, the research of Eugène Leroy, although he would rarely dare to go as far as the disappearance of the subject in the material. The subjects – studio window, landscapes, crowds – are often pretexts for research into color, the vibration of light and matter.
