A stunning quality late 19th century large French faux bamboo cheval mirror or full-length dressing mirror. Featuring the original mirror plate with curved top corners, framed in turned elm and stained to closely resemble bamboo, mounted to a rolling frame of turned faux bamboo elm, topped with turned finials, with stretchers and turned spindles, all standing on swept legs terminating on beavers. A paneled back protects the mirror, which pivots at its center with brass acorn finials on the swivel. This large faux bamboo standing mirror in elm is a beautiful full-length mirror suitable for the hall, bedroom, or bathroom. France, c.1880.
