Pierre Brune, born January 26, 1887 in Épinay-sur-Seine (Seine) and died June 1, 1956 in Céret (Pyrénées-Orientales), is a French painter.
Founder and first director of the Musée d'art moderne de Céret from 1950 to 1956.
As early as 1910 when he exhibited at the Indépendants, Pierre Brune already asserted his concern for construction and the rigor of his drawing.
In 1913 he had his first exhibition at the art dealer Druet alongside the works of Dufy, Rouault.
It was the great critic André Salmon who wrote the preface to the catalog: "Pierre Brune, anxious for certainty, wants above all to recognize his path.
