"Saint Thomas As An Architect, After Nicolaes Maes, 19th Century."
Canvas mounted on panel. 22 x 30 cm (without frame). Very good condition, some restorations. A rod has been added to the right part, covered by the frame. Dutch-style wooden frame. This copy of a work that was attributed to Rembrandt when it was made, takes up the composition of Saint Thomas returned to Nicolas Maes following the discovery of the signature after cleaning, kept at the Kassel museum in Germany. Our painting, with a very thin layer of paint, is of very beautiful workmanship, like the veins in the saint's left hand.
