A sublime and rare representative of the Abadeh rug family, from the first part of the 20th century, in magnificent condition, both for the velvet, the edges and the fringes.
This beautiful carpet with floral decoration has a decoration called Zil-I-Sultan composed of bouquets of flowers in vases placed one after the other. The colors of the Abadeh are always of plant origin and the pattern more or less complicated depending on the workshops.
The Abadeh are knotted in the city bearing the same name, they are very resistant.
Our model with its learned decoration has retained all its freshness of color and the beauty of its wool. Six bands of bouquets like trees of life are placed in vases.
The colors are frank and fresh, for an applied and fine decoration placed on an ivory background.
This type of carpet exudes perfect harmony, the wool used is soft, silky and shiny.
This piece has always been wonderfully well maintained which has allowed the velvet to remain in very good condition.
These are carpets with very resistant tight knots, recommended for large passages.
The Afsharis create a carpet very similar to the Abadeh, but in a more tribal way and in a less fine and therefore thicker wool.
The decoration plays perfectly with the contrast of its colors on an ivory field. Abadeh is a city in the Fars province of Iran with about 60,000 inhabitants.
It is located at an altitude of two thousand meters, in a fertile plain on the road between Esfahan and Shiraz, 225 km from the first and 275 km from the second.
