Object description :

"C. Le Tallec - "chinese Circus" - 1 Candy Box - Tiffany & Co. Model."
Rare and superb covered bonbonniere and its presentation plate in Limoges porcelain by Camille Le Tallec in the "Cirque Chinois" model Hand painted and gilded with fine gold Signed under the base "Designed and painted entirely by hand by Le Tallec in Paris" Date letters δ for 1968 Very good condition, without chips, without nicks, without cracks and without repairs. Flat diameter: 22.5 cm Bonbonniere height: 17.5 cm Bonbonniere diameter: 15 cm (19 cm with the handles) Model preserved and taken over by Tiffany & Co. in the 2000s for its famous "Private Stock" series. The Cirque Chinois model is an exquisite pattern with complex, colorful and delightful scenes. The pattern is made in a "Chinoiserie" style that evokes scenes from 18th century China. The model features whimsical 18th-century depictions of Chinese circus performers with fantastical animals, structures, jugglers, trees and flowers... Camille Le Tallec's workshop operated independently from 1930 to 1990 when it was taken over by the American jeweler Tiffany & Co. Le Tallec extended its fame to the most prestigious tables, including commissions for Queen Elizabeth II of England, Kings Mohammed V and Hassan II of Morocco, Queen Juliana of Holland, Prince of Qatar Abdelaziz bin Ahmed Al Thani, Shah of Iran Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the French Republic, the City of Paris, and a few wealthy individuals or artists. In the late 2000s, the Le Tallec workshop suffered the consequences of the global financial crisis and saw its business, which was closely tied to the American market due to its ties with Tiffany, decline. It closed its doors for good in 2014 after nearly 90 years of continuous activity. Sent by registered and insured Colissimo
