"Maillard Fres & Vazou - Art Nouveau Ice Cream Cutlery Set And Serving Cutlery"
An elegant Art Nouveau decoration with flowers and leaves of blooming and budded Fuschias adorns this service with great refinement. The vermeil parts are delicately engraved, the spoons of the twelve ice cream spoons, in soft relief, the buttons of the service cutlery, decorated on their face, with a blossoming flower. The vermeil faded in places, but very homogeneous, has the merit of being original. It gives the whole, all its authenticity. Normal micro-scratches of use, no deformation - very dense cutlery - or blows. Guarantee hallmark Head of Minerva 1st title (950) inscribed on each of the 14 pieces as well as that of the master goldsmiths Maillard Frères & Jules Vazou (Copin Succ.). These goldsmiths were active in Paris, 113 rue de Turenne between 1897 and 1903. The quality, the play of contrast between silver and vermeil, is very representative of the prestigious work carried out in these workshops.
