"Canetilles, Sequins... Saint André Embroidered"
Beautiful tondo embroidery of Saint Andrew, from the 19th century. Embroidery of gold metallic threads, silver sequins, green and brown cotton threads on a piece of black wool cloth. Character in the center representing Saint Andrew, his cross on his back, the face and hands are in thin cardboard cut and gouache. Beautiful bouquets of flowers to the left and right of the character made of gold and silver metallic threads. Frame made of an embroidered and padded ribbon sewn with a silver metallic fringe. A small hole of about 2 mm in diameter in the black background at the bottom left, scattered oxidation of the metal due to time. No lack or restoration, this work of patience remains in a beautiful state of conservation. Delivery: €10 for mainland France.
