Robert Dansler (1900-1972) is a complete artist, painter, designer, writer and author of comic strips.
He exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants from 1927 to 1929.
Our painting is to be compared to the work of Tamara de Lempicka (1898-1980). The two artists are contemporaries and it is a safe bet that Robert Dansler was inspired by the art of the brilliant Russian painter (born in Poland then in the Russian Empire) at the very moment when she imposed her innovative style.
Patinated wooden frame imitating gilding, from the period.
Good condition.
