"Miniature On 18th Century Enamel, Grisaille."
Charming miniature on enamel from the 18th century, to be compared to the works of the artist Carl Gustav Klingstedt (1657 - 1734), representing an interior scene with a young woman and her two children, of great finesse of execution. The medallion is presented in a brass / silver frame with suspension chains, and the back of the miniature is lined with mother-of-pearl. A lack is to be noted in the upper left corner, with tiny cracks. These alterations are very minor in reality (the area concerned measures 1 cm by 3 mm), and do not impact at all the readability of the whole. Dimensions: 4.5 X 4 cm
