BLADE: It is a slightly curved blade, with a single edge. Its profile is particularly pointed. On each face there are 3 thin grooves that are reminiscent of the western blades of Solingen. Presence of false markings at the level of these grooves on the first quarter of the blade. These marks without any meaning are intended to imitate the inscriptions found on certain Germanic blades.
Blade length = 56.5 cm, width near the handle 2.6 cm, thickness near the handle 5.3 mm.
HANDLE: It is made of Atlas cedar wood, and covered with a sheet of brass decorated with Berber motifs. The handle has the so-called "coil" shape typical of "sboula" type daggers, but at the part near the blade, a small piece of the coil has disappeared for a very long time, given the patina left by the owner's hand at the break.
SCABBARD: it is made of wood covered with brass sheets chiseled with Berber motifs. The side fasteners have disappeared a long time ago.
It is a beautiful ethnic weapon that takes us back to the time of Liautey, and Sultan Moulay Hassan, whose death in 1894 and that of the grand vizier and regent Ahmed Ben Moussa in 1900 marked the beginning of a difficult period for the Cherifian Empire. Difficult times with the questionable management of Sultan Moulay Abdel Aziz ben Hassan and the establishment of protectorates. The object is in its patina of use, not restored.
