Just released after being held for a year for the exhibition "Suffragette Movement under the Jeweller's Loupe" by ROUVENAT, Paris.
The Suffragette Movement supported women's right to vote and spanned the late 19th century into the early 20th century.
This Rare Necklace! Rare for two reasons, it is hallmarked for 15ct Gold. This hallmark was passed from 1854 until 1932. Plus it is an original Suffragette Jewel, showing the colours of the Movement. Women and men at this time, of this Movement wore jewellery with the colours, Purple, Green and White. It was a secret code to show support for this Movement.
Purple was for dignity.
Green to symbolise hope.
White for purity.
Today a beautiful historical jewel to wear proudly.
