"Oval Mirror In Gilded Wood, Louis XVI Style, Napoleon III Period – Mid-19th Century"
Oval mirror in gilded wood, partly with leaf, in the Louis XVI style, dating from the Napoleon III period, in the mid-19th century. It embodies the elegance and refinement of this period, while bringing a touch of majesty to any interior. The mirror is darkened with a mercury glass, typical of antique mirrors, which adds a unique depth and clarity. The molded frame highlights light chiseled patterns and an interior beading, adding an artistic and delicate dimension to the whole. The pediment is decorated with a large decorative knot, symbol of the opulence and sophistication of the Louis XVI style. The Louis XVI style is characterized by straight lines, geometric shapes and patterns inspired by Antiquity. This mirror, although dating from the Napoleon III period, perfectly reflects these influences with its chiseled frame and ornate pediment. ******** Period: Mid-19th century Excellent condition.
