Goldsmith and an innovative French jewelry designer from the interwar years.
“Pewter, silver, silver-plated metal make up his goldwork. His work has a sense of volume, modernity and clean lines. He favors innovative forms.
During his youth he frequented the Bateau-Lavoir, the cradle of Cubism, where he met Modigliani, Pablo Picasso, Paul Signac, Giorgio De Chirico and, above all, Georges Braque, who became one of his best friends.
The 1914-1918 war led him to work in aviation, as a designer of engine parts.
This experience would influence his creations.
He retained an aesthetic interest in geometric shapes and precision. 1920, back in Avallon, he set up his workshop in 1924 and produced goldwork and jewelry pieces which he exhibited in the boutique at 20 place Vauban and in numerous trade fairs.
