Montmartre Place Du Tertre: Jean Hugon.

View of the Place du Tertre on the Butte Montmartre in Paris from the french painter, Jean Hugon (1919-1990). Mixed media, gouache and oil on cardboard. On the left we can see the former Hôtel du Tertre or Hôtel Bouscarat, a must-see for Parisian artists in the first half of the 20th century, in the background the bell tower of the Sacré-cœur de Montmartre Basilica and finally on the right the Café de la Place. We find the choice of perspective which masks the dome of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart in some famous paintings by Utrillo from the 1930s.
Old frame with some traces of foxing. Painting in very good condition under glass. Signed lower left "Hugon".
