This grisaille was created in 1771 by the Clignancourt Manufacture. Grisaille appeared during the last years of the reign of Louis XV. This "Grisaille Pastorale" represents scenes influenced by Jean-Jacques Rousseau.
The former Royal Manufacture also made a perfect reproduction of this decor. These original drawings are in the Montmartre Museum in Paris.
