BIOGRAPHY The two goldsmiths Georges Boin and his son-in-law Emile Taburet created the Maison Boin-Taburet around 1875. They created many pieces of goldsmithery inspired by the magnificent services of the 18th century. For his first exhibition in Paris in 1878, Georges Boin presented a toilet service inspired by the work of Pierre Germain. For the Universal Exhibition of 1889 in Paris, we owe him several centre-pieces, including one executed after the drawings of the famous designer and ornamentalist Juste Aurèle Meissonnier; as well as tea services in the Louis XIV and Louis XVI styles. He also presented a soup tureen and its tray after Pierre Germain for the Jockey Club.
Maison BOIN TABURET participated in many exhibitions and fairs, notably those of 1878, 1889, and 1900. It thus contributed to the renaissance of French goldsmithing in the 19th century.
